Arrangements

In 2020, Joe Phelps and I composed and arranged this show for Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA, using the selections from Power of Love, Come and Get Your Love, You and Me, L.O.V.E., Love On Top, Natural Woman, This Will Be, Can’t Help Falling In Love. This show, entitled Everlasting, emphasizes the everlasting love we have in life with others.

In 2019, Vince Stewart and I composed and arranged this show for John F. Kennedy High School in La Palma, CA, using the selections from the hymn Be Thou My Vision, Three Celtic Dances, Carrickfergus, The Girl I Left Behind Me, and America The Beautiful. It emphasizes the yearning to come to America, told from the Irish perspective. It follows a family relocating to America to start a better life for their future.

In 2019, I wrote the percussion music for a high school in Iowa. This show, entitled Flood, included musical selections of Harold Arnold’s Over the Rainbow and Paul Simon’s Bridge Over Troubled Waters. The show narrative is about “The Great Flood” and the “Noah’s Ark” story as told in the Bible.

In 2018, Paul Rendon and I composed and arranged this show, entitled It Is Well, for a high school in La Palma, CA, using the selections from the hymn It Is Well by Philip Bliss, Vesuvius by Frank Tichelli, and Falling Slowly by Glen Hansard & Marketa Irglova. It pays homage to fire victims from the devastating California wildfires. It begins a beautiful day in sunny Cali, the fire starts, destruction everywhere, properties obliterated, and concludes with triumph as communities band together to rebuild their lives.

In 2018, I wrote the percussion music for a high school in Iowa. This show, entitled KarmeN, included musical selections of Georges Bizet’s Carmen, Adele’s Million Years Ago, and Ernesto Lecuona’s Malaguena.

In 2017, my high school students performed a wonderful latin show, entitled Danza de Cabaret.  It included the music of Chick Corea and Stan Kenton: Spain, Fuego Cubano, and Armando’s Rhumba.
