Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

I hope you all enjoyed a wonderful Christmas Day today!  I surely had a lot of fun sharing old stories, giving wonderful gifts, and remembering the real reason why we celebrate Christmas: the birth of Jesus Christ.

We had a little excitement this morning as my wife, Labra-Shepard dog, and I went on a Christmas morning jog.  We were attacked by a golden retriever as we passed by his home.  My dog, Poppy, and I gave him a Christmas gift as we took him down to the ground and then continued our run.

I hope you start 2015 with confidence and a yearning for greatness!  I wish you peace, patience, and the best year ever!

Fall 2014

It has been a while since I have posted on my website.  It’s been a busy Fall so far…

New Job: Adjunct Professor of Percussion at California Baptist University

Existing Job: Assistant Band Director/Percussion Caption Head at Western High School

Existing Job: Band Leader and Musician at The Disneyland Resort

With all of these roles at several different locations, it has definitely been a busy Fall.  I am very thankful for my new job as professor at CBU!  Teaching college students has been a goal of mine for a long time.  I am extremely blessed and very excited about what the future holds.

Don’t be a “couch potato” this summer, instead do something constructive and valuable. (Not to mention it is fun to hang out with my wife and I (and our dog, Poppy). Spots are filling up, so please contact us today!

My Song on Lifetime Movie!

“Drink Him Down,” a song I co-wrote with Maureen Davis and the members of our band, Maureen and the Mercury 5, is featured in the Lifetime TV movie Status: Unknown.  It is the second song I have co-written for a movie.  The first was with my former band, Distal.  The composition, “Follow Me,” was featured on the 2012 blockbuster hit Hardflip.

Please check out these movies and listen for my songs!  After a lot of hard work, I am very satisfied with the outcomes.  Thank you for staying current in my music and I hope you enjoy!

New 5 Octave Marimba!

Happy New Year!  I hope that 2014 is a great year for you and your family!

My 2014 has begun with the addition of a new instrument in my studio: 5 octave M4 SEP model DeMorrow marimba. It’s bars are made of rosewood from Honduras and the piping for the brass resonators were imported from Germany. It is by far the BEST marimba I have ever performed on!

If you or anyone you know are interested in learning how to play the marimba, now is the time to get started! I am currently accepting students for this semester. Please contact me today!

The Gift of Christmas/Merry Christmas

Wow!  What a show at Prestonwood Baptist Church in Dallas, TX!  The Gift of Christmas was definitely one of the highlights of my career so far.  I have never drummed from being picked up by a cable and lifted several stories in the air inside a huge auditorium.  Every single performance was quite the rush.  Playing drums for Christ in a dramatic way is what performing is all about and I am so fortunate enough to have had that opportunity last week!

Here is a short video clip from the show (I am the drummer in the middle of the screen wearing a bright yellow shirt)…

What a dramatic and elaborate way to celebrate the birth of our Savior!  I hope you and your family have a wonderful and Merry Christmas this year!

The Gift of Christmas

This Christmas season I will be involved in a big production in Dallas, Texas!  Aerial Experience Productions (performance group I am a member of) will be performing in Prestonwood Baptist Church’s Christmas celebration, The Gift of Christmas.  Some of us will even be flying through the air playing our drum in the production!

You may learn more about these performances at: The Gift of Christmas.

I hope to see you there while we celebrate the true meaning of Christmas!
